I can remember, while in elementary school, always wanting to sketch people. I was always intrigued with the unique shapes of each person’s features, as well as the way people would carry themselves. I wanted to capture that, and to this day, I continually look for ways to portray the individuality of each person I meet. I truly believe that everyone is beautiful, in his/her own way.

I became intrigued with movement and motion in pictures around the age of 12, when I was given a Brownie movie camera. My family regretted that decision as I would always have to make a movie production of our vacations each year. One summer while in Breckenridge, Co., I saw the most beautiful field of wild flowers that I wanted my sister to run through as I captured this on film. The problem for her was that it was a 45 degree incline. I instructed her to run up it as I was lying in the grass to capture that unique angle of wild flowers covering the lower half of my sister’s body. Unfortunately, she was grimacing as she was running up the hill, so I ordered her to go back down and run up again with a smile on her face. My family instructed me not to EVER include them in my projects again. However, during the past several years, my family is eternally grateful that I have recorded these very special moments with one another, forever.

With landscapes, I found instant paintings. Later, as an art major in college, I realized that photography would always be my artistic outlet and allow me to create a painting in only seconds.

Today, my passion for photography has grown more intense than ever. My greatest joy is hearing someone say, “You make me look so good!!!” I walk through life actually seeing the BEST in everyone and everything. I take pride in being able to work with an individual, bringing him/her into a state of confidence and freedom, the freedom to portray the unique person he/she was created to be.

Throughout my life and with all of my experiences, I have coined this simple phrase:
“Photography captures our very existence. Every photo has captured that MOMENT in TIME that wasn’t there before nor will ever occur again.”
